Efficient memory usage
Octopus processes large volumes with only minimal memory
usage. For a typical cone beam geometry Octopus can reconstruct volumes up to 2K³
with less than 4 GB of RAM. For larger volumes, the hard disk can be used as a
buffer if the amount of RAM memory is limited with only minimal overhead.
In parallel and fan beam geometry cross-sections of more
than 8K² can be reconstructed with only a limited amount of RAM memory.
Large volumes can be processed on a single computer, on a cluster of network computers or on the graphical processing unit.
