History

inCT was founded in December 2008 by prof. dr. Veerle Cnudde and dr. ir. Jelle Vlassenbroeck as a spin-off off of the Centre for X-ray Tomography (UGCT), located at the Ghent University in Belgium.

inCT provides services in high resolution X-ray tomography with the goal to retrieve structural information on a micrometer scale for tiny objects and to investigate the macro structure of larger objects. Applications range from defect detection in malfunctioning electronic or mechanical components to a full characterization of the pore structure of porous materials. The flexibility to image both small and large objects opens up a world of possibilities to companies, with applications in R&D projects, quality control, process control, and many other fields.

inCT distributes the tomographic reconstruction package Octopus since February 2010. Octopus is originally developed at UGCT. The software package originates from parallel beam neutron tomography, but has since evolved to one of the most versatile and performing package for the processing of tomography data acquired in various geometries.
